Metro North Hospital and Health Service wish to extend an opportunity to carers of adult patients with eating disorders to participate in an upcoming research project – a co-designed investigation into a support system for those patients returning home from a hospital stay.

The project is led by Dr. Kylie Matthews-Rensch (Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital) and Consumer Co-Lead Lisa Jones, funded by the Australian Eating Disorders Research and Translation Centre.  Their approach is to bring together staff, carers and consumers to collaboratively explore the issue and to plan for a future co-design project that would meet patient and carer needs post discharge from the hospital setting. They hope this will promote shared learning, and co-design methods to give power to persons with lived experience to make decisions about the care required during the transition from acute hospitalisation to home.

Their approach is to bring carers and persons with lived experience together to collaboratively explore the issue and to plan for a future co-design project that would meet patient and carer needs post discharge from the hospital setting. They hope this will promote shared learning, and co-design methods to give power to both carers and persons with lived experience to make decisions about the care required during the transition from acute hospitalisation to home.

This phase of the research will involve three 2-hour workshops.

Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary.
