You can't tell whether someone has an eating disorder based on their appearance. So how can you tell?  Should you say something?

Should I Say Something? is an interactive educational program designed to increase mental health literacy and helping behaviours in community members in contact with those developing or experiencing an eating disorder. It is an introductory level workshop for people who do not have professional expertise in eating disorders but who work with those at risk. It is relevant and appropriate for professionals such as teachers, sport and fitness professionals, youth, community, welfare workers and others.

The workshop is based on research which provided the foundation for the Eating Disorders: First Aid Guidelines (2008). It covers:
Types of eating disorders
Risk factors
Warning signs
Treatment options
How to approach and assist someone who may be developing or experiencing an eating disorder

Time: 9am-1pm

Where: Meeting Room 3, Boroondara Youth Resource Center, Level 1, 360 Burwood Road, Hawthorn
