This year, Eating Disorders Victoria launched our Peer Mentoring Program, a one of a kind in Australia that helps those in recovery build on the progress made during a hospital inpatient stay or while completing an intensive day program.

Did you know?

  • One in 24 Australians have an eating disorder.
  • Many have never met someone who has recovered.

Our goals for 2018 include expanding this program to reach more people in need and show those with an eating disorder that RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE

Meet two of our Peer Mentors, Alice and Gareth, who explore the full impact that Peer Mentoring Program has on the Victorian community.

Alice

"The Peer Mentoring Program provides the opportunity for us to make a connection with those battling an eating disorder. It provides hope in a way that no other program does."

Gareth

One of the hardest things about recovery is not being able to see the end goal, and many Victorians with an eating disorder have never met someone who has recovered. By sharing your story of recovery, or letting us know how hearing the journey of others helps you, we can create a community that inspires recovery.
