EDV supports workplace and community education

We often spend more time at work than with our family and friends. With around 1 in 20 Australians experiencing an eating disorder, chances are there is someone in your workplace or your community that is directly affected.

EDV runs workshops and seminars for the workplaces and the general public with the aim of establishing a future in which eating disorders are recognised at all levels of the community as serious and chronic illnesses. Topics which can be covered include:

  • Types of eating disorders
  • Warning signs
  • Risk factors
  • Protective factors
  • Treatment options and recovery
  • Prevention
  • Body image
  • Self acceptance
  • Media literacy
  • Lived Experience – talks by people who have recovered from an eating disorder
