EDV’s online chat service is a part of the EDV Hub, which is a free and confidential service operated by volunteers. The Hub aims to provide information, navigation and support about eating disorders. Our volunteers are trained and supported but it is important to note they are professionals and cannot give mental health or medical advice.
You might find online chat helpful if you prefer to chat rather than call, you have a quick question, or if you are feeling shy or unsure if you are in the right place.
The chat box is found on the bottom of all pages on the EDV website. Online chat is available during Hub opening hours, Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 4.30pm and when a team member is available. There may be times when the chat service is busy with lots of people online, at this time you may be placed in a queue and when connected your chat time will be limited to 15 minutes. If you’d rather not wait, or if you visit our website outside our operating hours, you will be directed to fill in our an online enquiry form where you can request an email or a phone call back.
To enter online chat, we will ask for some personal information. There is the option to remain anonymous but providing details will help with our response and is important for improving the work we do. All information we collect is kept confidential.
