This page contains information about the early intervention training EDV offers to health and other community professionals.

Why health and other professionals?

Professionals working in health fields, such as nutrition and dietetics, nursing, mental health, occupational therapy, social work and so on, will work with clients at risk of, or already experiencing, eating disorders. Other professionals such as youth workers, sporting coaches, personal trainers, and yoga instructors will also work with at-risk groups.

EDV can help professionals identify warning signs, intervene, refer appropriately, and support people who they are concerned about in their professional dealings.

In addition, these workshops also provide information about promoting environments that celebrate a diversity of body types and focus on health, not weight.

Please note: EDV’s training focuses on awarenessearly identification and early intervention. For professionals looking to up-skill in therapeutic treatment approaches for eating disorders, please visit our page on advanced training for clinicians.
