Speakers, Writers and Artists Bank

The EDV Speakers, Writers and Artists Bank is a space for people whose lives are touched by an eating disorder to share their experiences. Many people find creative outlets, such as writing or painting, very helpful in expressing the overwhelming emotions which arise during the recovery experience.

If you would like to share your creative expressions for inclusion in the Speakers, Writers and Artist's Bank, (please ensure all work is recovery-focused), please submit to Megan O'Connor by email: megan.oconnor@eatingdisorders.org.au.

Paintings

The following samples have been submitted by Kim Howard, a Melbourne-based artist who is planning an exhibition aimed at promoting the notion that 'eating disorders are psychological and not frivolous, diet-related obsessions as promoted in the media'. The following works have been done at various stages of her eating disorder spanning 21 years.

Please be aware all submissions must be approved by Eating Disorders Victoria and we reserve the right to deny items which may be harmful, triggering or inappropriate for inclusion on our website.

The Women's Health Information Centre has a free exhibiting space for artists and community groups in the foyer of the Royal Women's Hospital.  If you would like to share your creative thoughts while EDV works on a Cunningham Dax collection of ED art for BIEDAW 2011, please contact .
