Personality and Behavioural Risk Factors

There are a number of characteristics which regularly present themselves in eating disorders, these are referred to as risk factors. A key strategy in the prevention of eating disorders is to be aware of these risk factors, and if you or somebody you know display a number of these, to take preventative measures wherever possible. This includes ensuring a balanced lifestyle is maintained, such as practising healthy, flexible eating behaviours as well as taking active steps to promote wellbeing, self esteem and self care.
