Family Support Officer
- Is someone you care about having difficulty with food?
- Are you unsure of what to do and say?
- Do you feel like you are walking on eggshells?
- Are you reluctant to talk to the person you think has an eating disorder?
Looking after a loved one with an eating disorder can leave you feeling overwhelmed, frustrated and lost. You are not alone.
Our Family Support Officer provides you the opportunity to express your feelings, discuss coping strategies, develop skills and explore appropriate services available to you in your role as a support person.
To make an appointment please contact The Eating Disorders Helpline on 1300 550 236 or 03 9885 0318, or email help@eatingdisorders.org.au. Appointments are free & confidential and can be face to face or via telephone.
Attending an EDV workshop for carers will assist you in developing coping strategies, communication and support skills. Check our website for dates of workshops.
